Window Manager > workspaces 2 was already set, so I went to Panel Preferences>Items and entered it below the Notification Area (I like these switches on the right hand side).
All is now well and I think I could have done this if I had looked back some of the threads that have been raised on this forum ?? Maybe not as I am a bit of a numpty

Carried out your latest suggestion and the printer has printed a test page.
Went upstairs and printed out a page from Writer and it worked well. Looks as if it is a success.

I will go through this in the morning after my visit to the doc.
PS I have this printer connected wirelessly with the Windows computer and it works ok. These instructions look much the same as when I connected the Windows computer. Hope fully it should all go well.

I am back with this problem with this printer.
I can not get the wireless connection to work. I had a topic here in September but I was able to use the Windoze computer to print out my sketches. I have now lost the Windoze computer and would like to establish a wireless connection with my Novatech computer running Pep 7.
Can you help ? where do I start ?

That explains what I meant. There is a bit of faffing about getting it to run but I quite like it.

I received word last night that my.sketchup was available for linux users. I have had a look and it seems to work ok. I found this was a great programme in Windoze and was sorry it could not be used on linux systems. Some people have commented that they can now dump windross as that was what they needed to run sketchup. Do you know of any problems that might crop up in using this programme ? Is there any loss of functionality ? It is a beta version and it does admit that there WILL be bugs. Personally speaking I find it great to be able to use it but I thought there may be someone who would like a heads up.

I have glabels on the computer so I will have a look.
I have installed kover but can't make head nor tail of it. Can't find any documentation either.
There is a good manual with glabels, I will peruse that at my leisure in the morning

I want to print cd/dvd labels and I can use Decadry label printer in Windoze. Is there something suitable in Linux as I don't have access to a Windoze printer all the time. ?

I have been busy the past few days but I have noticed that startup is almost instantaneous
I will keep an eye on it but it was so unexpected that it didn't register the first few times.
I will mark this solved when I remember to check it out.
EDIT The machine now boots in 6 seconds

I have the printer printing in A4 size so I will leave this for the moment.
