General Discussion / Re: Open source promotion web site

"Windows isn't open source, nor is it anything to do with Linux. Windows is a completely different OS, and everything in the Windows kernel is all closed-source. They don't share anything. "

I know I said I want Open source software for Windows eg. Gimp or Open office but mainly I need help finding companys that use Linux or Open source software whether it be on Win, Linux or use Linux itself or whatever.

I'm after more info on which company's use Linux but mainly which companys use Open source software (for Windows for example) thats my primary aim as it will be the quickest route to promoting open source in general.

General Discussion / Open source promotion web site

Hi all I am putting together a web site to promote Open source software and Linux based Operating systems initially it was to be aimed at charities but after considering small businesses I have opened it up to be more general but I feel strongly that charities etc are wasting large amounts of there IT budget when they could be looking at other options like Open source.
I have made a start with my limited web design skills with ALL Open source tools (GIMP, Kompozer etc) bu need information on company's that use Open source and recommendation s etc etc mainly (but not exclusively) on Windows Open source as that would be the most used and quickest way to introduce Open source to people.
Any help would be appreciated though thanks in advance.

Unlike other Open source web sites I hope to give specific detailed info on Open source software but in a easy to use manor.
