I believe it was showing USB FDD, i was using Sony 8GB USB,

I will try another USB tomorrow and see how i get on.

I have noticed that the cheaper USB sticks tend to be recognised by the AA1 better than some of the branded ones .. but really it's probably just luck of the draw.

Finally installed Peppermint Three   :D :) :) :) :)


Another USB worked which was formatted to NTFS.

Now trying to install skype, when i run sudo apt-get update

then sudo apt-get install skype

it comes back with e:unable to locate package skype   :(

In Synaptic>Settings>Repositories .. select the "Other Software" tab.

Make sure ALL boxes are ticked EXCEPT

cdrom:[Peppermint 3_Three_ - Release i386 (20120423)]/ precise

(In particular you need to make 100% sure the "Partner" repositories are ticked)

Click Close

Close Synaptic.

Open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
then
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install skype
WARNING: You are logged into reality as 'root'
