putting skype on linux

how do you put skype on linux? are they compatible with each other?

Hi keanuc1, and welcome to the forum :)

Yes there is Skype for Linux .. but to give you full instructions how to install it, you'll have to tell us which Linux distribution you're using.

Examples -

Ubuntu 12.10
Mint 14
Peppermint 3
openSUSE 12.2
Fedora 17
etc.
