I can see a flaw in YOUR thinking.

I thought the last thing a Scotsman wants is to hear an Englishman talk ;)

For various reasons the English drivers probably don't want to go into Scotland if they can help it.

That's quite an ambiguous statement Mark why do you think they wouldn't want to cross the border ?

How long till you guys realise .. We English only ever wanted to get stuff OUT of Scotland, not put stuff IN

You mean like our oil or the or the worthless lump of sandstone your beloved King Edward 1 believed was the stone of destiny

I can feel a backlash coming from that statement .. but before you start shouting "sasanach" or going all Gaelic

Were not all gaelic up here Mark,, you guys kicked most of them out of Scotland and a sasanach is not an Englishman he's a lowlander, we have other names for Englishmen, note the wink at the end  :)
If you can keep your head while all around are losing theirs, then you're not quite grasping the situation

Usually people from Liverpool, Birmingham or some area of London (that includes the towns it's swallowed up).

I don't mind people from Yorkshire, because they kind of speak like us, lowlanders.

Ouch .. I'm originally from the black country (with what you'd consider a "brummie" accent) ;)

As far as import duty goes, it is still a lot cheaper.  At the time of purchase the camera was 425 at Jessops and 199 from a reputable company in Hong Kong.  I emailed them about duty and they said they would pay it.  So for 199 I got a camera 226 cheaper with free delivery full UK warranty and duty paid.  Whether they paid it or not is a different story.  There are a lot of Asian companies sending items over marked as 'Gift' or 'Value 10' to avoid duty.  This puts UK companies at a disadvantage.  But, lets not forget the very large difference in price, not just in this case but many countless others.  'Rip Off Britain' is a fair comment.  Put that with crap service and it's not good enough.  I have been waiting since October for Tesco's to issue me with an invoice for an iPad (my Wifes before you start) :).  They are useless, keep promising to send one every week.  When times are difficult as they are now companies need to be even better at customer service.  My experience of dealing with a variety of businesses on a day to day basis is appalling.
Life is for living.  RIP Keith Floyd.   ;)

Yeah I know about the avoid import duty, I had a few friends in the US send me some stuff over as a present and they marked it as "gift" so they didn't have to pay for import duty.

I personally think that they need to revise that system.

Also, could you PM me this company. I'd love to save money on a camera!
