What are you using to download them to MPEG ?, as MPEG doesn't tell us what format the video is .. MPEG can mean MP4 including x264, mpeg-2 (like DVD's use), etc.

Once I can get a file in the same format as you have them, I can find something to convert them.

I am using you tube downloader and the file I downloaded is in MP4 360P.

Did you figure out why the url wasn't recognised by xvideo?

Can you give me a link to the youtube downloader you mean.

In xVST, try removing the "s" from "https" (so you're not using a secure socket) .. so instead of:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUdBCV89gWc

you try this instead:

Oddly, BOTH seem to work for me .. but I'm on Peppermint 4 and a later version of xVST

Mark it is downloading!!! I am your friend forever! Sonata no. 29 is the greatest music for piano ever!!! Now I can make a CD of it- I wanted this version as it's on a replica antique piano and they sound the best for nineteenth century music.

:) .. not really my thing I'm afraid, there are only a handful of pieces of classical music I like, and I wouldn't know their names if my life depended on it :)

I've heard it ALL, many, many, many times though (dad was a classical nut) .. so it's not a case of not having heard it.

I am a great admirer of Beethoven as you probably guessed. The world will not see his like again- monumental genius.
I am ripping the CD as I post this- a box came up and as the disc is RW it might not play on older CDs- not a prob as if it doesn't I will give this to my Mum to play on her tv box thing and I can get non RW discs from the pound shop tomorrow.

Yup, CDRW is only half as reflective as CDR .. and some CD platers don't even like CDR's ;)

I'd like to install the videothief on my Mint Dell netbook as got links on my endless stream of bookmarks I'd like to save and put on the Maxtor. I don't know what bit  etc it is- what do I do to find out? Just on the Dell at the moment. Thanks.

Great it's there thanks Mark. How would I find out how much hard disk space is on this netbook? I mean how much it's got left to download any more software. I am not aiming to add anymore really but wondering if it is going to cope with what it has until I get its new hardrive.

The file manager should be displaying free space somewhere .. but if not:
Code: [Select]
df -h

[EDIT]

Come to think of it .. doesn't mint come with the baobab "Disk Space Analyzer" somewhere in the menus ?
