Can you type EXACTLY what's listed in Additional drivers (and say which is currently selected) .. or attach a screenshot.

You're STILL using the open source radeon driver.

The above is a copy of post 5 where the Radeon was installed. You may have missed my reply ? I replaced it with the proprietary driver but that made video almost unwatchable....choppy, freezing etc. I have now re-installed the Radeon driver and this has returned things to what they were. Will attach screenpic shortly.

Hi Skronk

To attach a screenshot (or any file), under the main text box you'll see "Attachments & other options", below that you'll see a sub section headed "Attach" click "Choose file" and navigate to where you saved the screenshot and open to add the attachment, the site has a file size limit so you may have to resize to no larger than 1024kb

Hope this helps

Good luck

Graeme

Can you try the fglrx-updates driver.

I'd be amazed if the proprietary drivers from AMD were worse than the open source ones  :o

After installing fglrx and rebooting .. is there a Catalyst Control Panel in the menu's somewhere ?

and can you post the output from:
Code: [Select]
sudo lshw -C display
again, so we can be sure fglrx loaded

can you also post the output from:
Code: [Select]
ls -a /etc/X11

Can you clarify what version of Zorin you're running and if your system is 32 or 64 bit ?
