I've never heard of it either but I suppose it's a good feature but as we've seen it can cause some confusion  ???

BTW

That wee jingle you wrote on reply #20 has to be the worst jingle I've ever seen thank god you're not on the marketing team :)

anyway here's one I done earlier

If you think you're PC's finally done
and it wont run Windows 8.1
dont despair cause here's a hint
just pep it up with peppermint

Howzat :)

There once was a man from Dundee

SORTED  :) ;) :D ;D well chuffed i now have Linux Mint Cinnamon 16..... loaded onto a usb stick, the problem i was having trying to load the stick onto my laptop was that i was using a wireless connection and it wouldn't have it until i connected the yellow lead from my router to the lappy, and it all kicked in, all i need to do now is try to sort out my printer connection and a wirless connection so i can take it to bed and play about  :-[ :-[ i did mean my laptop  ;D i do use thundebird mail with windows, and i intend to use it with Mint, can i still use my windows email addresses Ie Hotmail, when i register with Thunderbird using Mint, or will i have to make all new email addresses, without the Hotmail logo, if ya not what i mean, but other than that yea well chuffed Thanks Mark-Emegra-Chemicalfan- and everyone else that commented on this thread,  :) Roach

I'm not sure about the Hotmail thing, been a few years since I've tried that....

Wireless shouldn't be too much trouble....what make of printer do you have? They can be fiddly :(

If they work in Thunderbird in Windows, they shoulld work in Thunderbird in Linux :)

If you require help with the wireless, please post a new topic with a more relevant name and under "general support" and we'll see what we can do.

I don't think the printer will be a problem I had a look at your printer and it looks very similar to mine which is a CLP-325W and it installed no problem, according to here http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/pc-peripherals-printer/printer-multifunction/mono-laser-printer/ML-2240/XSS# your printer is supported in Linux so you should be good to go

Is your printer wireless and if so do you want to connect to it wirelessly ?

Graeme

my printer is connected to my desktop via usb cable, thinking about it it may be better of that way just using printer with my desktop if its a bit fiddley as Chemical fan suggest, and as Mark says it might be better to start a new thread in "general support" about wireless setting up,  thanks Graeme - Chemicalfan
