Ubuntu makes it onto PC World's "100 Best Products of 2011"

Ubuntu has made it onto PC World's "100 Best Products of 2011".. Ubuntu Natty Narwhal (11.04) placed in at number 82. Ahead of Ubuntu 11.04 in number 19 is Microsoft's Internet Explorer. (This made me laugh very hard until I fell onto the floor nearly crying in laughter.) Placed in at number 11 is Google +, at number 2 is Apple's Macbook Pro and in pole position is Verizon's LTE.

What I found funny was them placing Windows Phone 7 Mango at #7 .. not that I find that particularly odd, I don't know enough about it, but if you follow the Read More link you'll end up here:

Where PCWorld's Tom Bradley seems to suggest he still prefers Apples iOS to Mango .. again not that odd .. the funny part comes in when you read another of his posts:

Holding customers hostage isn't the way to go. Let the customers have some choice, then make sure your product or service is worthy of being chosen. It would be awesome if I could connect the Office Hub with my Box.net account.

Now I find it MIGHTILY odd that he doesn't like M$ vendor tie in, but prefers Apples iOS (who IMHO are the undisputed kings of vendor tie in), and has pre-ordered an iPhone 4S

Heh, each to his own. I'm getting an Android for Christmas, so I'll be looking for ways to root etc in Linux. I don't want to be giving my money to either Microsoft or Apple.

I'd like to get a Motorola XOOM, but I have no "need" for a tablet. So until I can find a perfectly good reason why I "need" a tablet then I'm afraid I'm still the oldie who'll stick to mobiles and desktops. XD

Ask MP about that .. he *used* to say the similar things .. now he loves his XOOM and AFAIK, wouldn't be without it
