Title: KSM!
Post by: Mad Penguin on September 28, 2010, 10:44:45 pm
Ubuntu 10.10 comes with a newer Kernel that includes a feature called KSM which tried to consolidate common memory pages between virtual machines. I've recently upgraded to this and my memory usage on the box concerned has dropped from 12G to 9G .. the KSMD process does consume some CPU, but given the price of 4Gb RAM chips it seems like a fair trade-off!
