Title: Linux users donate twice as much as Windows users for Humble games Bundles
Post by: Mark Greaves (PCNetSpec) on October 01, 2011, 02:21:29 pm
For those people that think Linux users are less likely to pay for decent software .. take a look at this:
http://www.humblebundle.com/ (http://www.humblebundle.com/)

Effectively you pay whatever amount you like for the "Frozen Synapse" bundle (which includes bonus game "Trauma"), but if you pay over the average (currently $4.65) you also get the "Frozenbyte" Bundle, which includes 5 games - Trine, Shadowgrounds, Shadowgrounds: Survivor, Splot, and Jack Claw.
(also includes a Steam key)

The amount users chose to pay/donate (by platform) -

Windows users  - $3.40
Mac users         - $5.90
Linux users       - $8.78

This would seem to suggest Linux users are willing to pay more than twice as much as Windows users for decent games :)

BTW, this offer is only available for the next 11 days 9 hours 30 mins (at time of posting) .. so if you're interested, be quick :)
