Thanks, but I can't find transmission. When I search for it...nothing. When I attempt to download a movie for example I can't. I used to do it in Mint and it would work automatically...in Zorin nothing happens.

Hi, can anyone help me to download Transmission. This is for my second laptop on which I use Zorin. I copied a video from youtube and got:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:transmission/ppa [sudo] password for joe: Cannot add PPA: 'ppa:~transmission/ubuntu/ppa'. The user named '~transmission' does not have any PPA Please note I tried in the terminal because I cannot download it through my desktop because it insists I register an account with Ubuntu and every time I try to, it won't let me. Thanks. 4

Yes new, 15 inch at least and no gaming. Main interest is trying different distros on virtual box, watching videos and using the internet in general. Thanks for the reply, I will look at your suggestions. Ta.

Hi all. Just thought I would try to cut to the chase and ask for any recommendations for a laptop 15 inch to dual boot W10 and Linux. Have been researching it now for a few weeks without a positive result. Want something for around £800 that I can install Linux on without too much difficulty and run it for years to come. Any answers will be much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Have read link...don't understand it but will look into it.
While reading it on my old laptop it flashed off and I had to reopen the website. I couldn't find my post because it was now marked as read. I had to do a search to find it. Is there a link where I can find all of my posts? I apologise in advance because I know this is probably obvious. Thanks. 8

Hello to all. Just joined, from Liverpool, a newbie and hopefully not too much of a burden.
Can anyone give me advice on whether the Acer Asire 7 i5 with GTX1050 is a good laptop to buy. I intend to keep W10 and dual boot with Linux. I will probably install Mint and try different distros in Virtual box. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
