General Discussion / Reverting to original settings of a programme
« on: December 25, 2019, 01:22:51 am »
How do I revert back to the original state of a programme if I have made a mistake in setting it up? So far, I have found it hard, if not impossible to go back to how a programme or application was when it was initially downloaded. It looks like, in linux mint, once you have set up an application/programme and confirmed it, you cannot change that setting even if you uninstall the programme and reinstall it. Once reinstalled, the new installation retains the settings you want to get rid of. Could someone please tell me if there is a way to correct mistakes made during the set up period?

General Discussion / Virtual DJ for LinuxnMint 19.1
« on: February 22, 2019, 11:08:15 pm »
Hello all, I am trying to find and download Virtual Dj for linux but cannot find it or similar. Basically, I am looking for a DJ application like Serato Dj, Virtual Dj or CrossDJ. I know that the above names might not be available on linux but I am trying to find alternatives. Could any one please suggest some and where to download them from?
Appreciating your response in advance

Hi all,
I am now in my second week as a Linux mint (Cinammon) user. However, I installed an Application called Youtube-dl from the software manager but I cannot see the application in the ALL APPLICATIONS list on my laptop. I am running Linux MINT 19.1 CINAMMON and my laptop is HP pavillion DV7. Since installing it, I have restarted the laptop but still cannot see it. This is making me wonder if I am doing something wrong. Could someone please point out where the app is hiding.
Thanks for your attention

General Discussion / Installing Adobe reader on Linux mint 19.1
« on: February 09, 2019, 09:54:18 pm »
Hi all,
This is my first day ever using Linux. Obviously, it is daunting. I have successfully downloaded and installed Linux Mint 19.1 and my system is running fine. I have also found a way to surprise myself by installing the printer successfully.
However, I need to install adober reader but unable to follow/understand  the commands to be entered on the terminal. I have followed some youtube videos but those guys are too fast for a newbie. They seemed to be talking to people who already know what they are doing, which I am not.
Could someone please please write out the commands to enter on the TERMINAL and the clear sequence or how to enter them. I will really appreciate this and I am hoping not to return to using Windows 10.
Once again, I will gratefully appreciate assistance on this issue.

Thanks again
