Ubuntu / Booting
« on: November 11, 2019, 10:36:39 pm »
Hey guys!! I need you help please.
I just got an Acer Predator 300. I have Windows and Kali on my 256GB NVME M.2 hard drive, and Mint on my 1TB SATA SSD that I installed.
Windows isn't loading from any of my options on the Grub2 menu. In fact, it has an EFI file that points to sda1. Here's the pastebin:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/ThfpXmD74Z/
This all started happening after I deleted everything on the 1TB SSD (old Windows 10 and Kali instance) and did a clean install of Mint on that drive, overwriting the entire drive.
I used boot-repair but it's still broken.
The fdisk -l is as follows:
Code: [Select]
jed@Predator:~$ sudo fdisk -l

Hardware Compatibility / Very Slow Boot
« on: September 08, 2019, 05:31:36 am »
Hello!! First post here. I have been playing around with linux for about 6 months now. Decided to play around with triple booting and I actually got it haha.
I am having a bit of a problem with my Mint not booting very fast. I have a HP Pavilion 15-t. Today I just upgraded from a mechanical HDD to a 1TB Samsung Evo 860 SSD. I have Windows 10, Mint, and Kali installed. Kali and Windows boot really fast now and I don't have any problems. Mint, on the other hand takes a few minutes and is actually slower than when I had my HDD installed. I ran

My kernel is 4.5.0-60-generic
It probably has something to do with the swap or something. IDK
Oh, here't the blkid: http://m.uploadedit.com/bbtc/1567916962151.txt

Thank you guys so much in advance!!
