Hi :)


I have setup the dc (samba) but when it comes to connecting my other computer to my Domain it can't find it,Before i tried to connecting my computer's to my dc i ping my server ip and i got pings bacck :),Can somone help me with this problem please :)

Hi Linix Communtiy :)

I'am in the middle of seating up my owen Person Server (Home Server) I have already setup the DC just got The FTP, Print Server todo :) What want take to long :P, But i was woudning as my Netowork is now run on an DC is there any way i can shear programs round my nextwork.

And also i want to Creat an DC becuse i have 4 computer what can acces the dc and 1 does not soo i need the DC setup for 4 of my computer and the other 1 Shearing Folders

Thanks for the correction of my speeling :), I mean in windows 7 you can not link Windows 7 to an DC so can i link some folder to it and shear them with my Server and My Windows 7 Home computer and Map an network drive to it. Do you understand what I'am saying now Mate :)

Hi :)

I'am trying to eddit my Samba config file vi /etc/samba/smb.conf file but when the file comes up it all in black and white, what i understand is normale but i can seem to eddit the file and change things e.g workgroup etc. Why is this i have tryed afew things to try and fix it and they anit worked so i'll through i'll ask the pro's.

Hi :)

I have just instslled Ubuntu Server eddition on to my Home server, But For some resone the inrrent want connect as i now you don;t need to instlal driversetc becuse of the os :) But why dose it not work :S i have tryed to ping an web site e.g. ping google.co.uk and it gose know host :S
