Don't worry, Don.  Just try Find Network printer which is, after all, what we want it to do, and post the choices it gives you.

Network printer.

1. First of all, please copy and paste the output from the df command that you entered so that we can see what's happening.

By the way the HD box does not say whether it is formatted
I presume you mean the box it came in.  But it will be formatted.

Hi Emp53 - and welcome to the Forum.

Once the new HDD is attached, it should appear listed in your file manager.
I am not familiar with Fedora but if it works anything like Ubuntu, you can also check with the following command:
Code: [Select]
 df | grep "/dev/sd"
This should list drives sda1 and sdb1

By the way; is the new HDD external or internal?

The fact that /usr/share/doc/cups has only one file is is odd if CUPS had ever been installed.

Does your System-Settings/Printers show the printer?
If so, can you delete it then re-install it?

Oh yes - I forgot - sorry.
I'll think about it and come back tomorrow.

I was clutching at straws there.

Try looking at your printer's wireless network menu and printing out the Wireless LAN Report.
You can find the meaning of error any codes here: https://download.brother.com/welcome/doc100595/cv_mfc6930dw_asoce_rg.pdf
This will tell you if the printer is talking to the router.

What's the output from
Code: [Select]
ls /usr/share/doc/cups

Go back one page, or click on the "Administration" button in the page's menu bar, then click on "Find new printers" and report the result.

Try this:
Enter localhost:631 into the address bar of your web browser.  This should bring up the CUPS page.
If it does:
Click  on the Adding Printers and Classes button.
Click on Manage printers

Let me know the result.

Have you ever had this printer working on your Linux computer?
