Firefox Social API + WebRTC video calling and file transfer
« on: December 04, 2012, 02:02:58 pm »
Mozilla are adding a social networking API and IMHO more importantly are going to add WebRTC "real time" video calling and file transfer to Firefox.

See the initial announcement and video demo here:
https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2012/11/30/webrtc-makes-social-api-even-more-social/

According to this:
http://www.webmonkey.com/2012/12/mozilla-blends-social-api-webrtc-for-more-social-web-apps/
and
http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Mozilla-demos-WebRTC-based-Social-API-in-Firefox-1761309.html
Some of the features are already available in the Firefox beta .. but I haven't had a looksee yet.
