I'm a newbie.  My wifi does not seem to work only LAN is working.  Here's the output I got following recommendations from the previous post:
mikaela@mikai ~ $ sudo lshw -C network
[sudo] password for mikaela:
  *-network
       description: Ethernet interface
       product: L2 Fast Ethernet
       vendor: Atheros Communications Inc.
       physical id: 0
       bus info: pci@0000:03:00.0
       logical name: eth0
       version: a0
       serial: 00:1f:c6:74:88:7f
       size: 100Mbit/s
       capacity: 100Mbit/s
       width: 64 bits
       clock: 33MHz
capabilities: pm msi pciexpress vpd bus_master cap_list rom ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd autonegotiation
       configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=atl2 driverversion=2.2.3 duplex=full firmware=L2 ip=192.168.1.4 latency=0 link=yes multicast=yes port=twisted pair speed=100Mbit/s
       resources: irq:43 memory:fbfc0000-fbffffff memory:fbfa0000-fbfbffff

mikaela@mikai ~ $ iwconfig
lo        no wireless extensions.

eth0      no wireless extensions.

mikaela@mikai ~ $ iwlist scanning
lo        Interface doesn't support scanning.

eth0      Interface doesn't support scanning.

I don't know how to resolve this problem.  Any help will be highly appreciated.

What happens if you run:
Code: [Select]
sudo rfkill unblock all
in a terminal ?

If wireless springs to life .. be sure to do a full system update by running:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get update
then
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get upgrade

Now wireless will hopefully survive a reboot.

If the above DOESN'T work ..

What's the output from:
Code: [Select]
rfkill list

Is there a hardware switch for wirless on the EeePC 900 .. it may be a physical switch, or it may be a key combo, such as Fn+F8

[EDIT]

SOLVED on the Peppermint forum (Where the OP had also posted):
http://peppermintos.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=5562

"sudo rfkill unblock all" and a full system update fixed the issue
