I'm looking through the settings and I don't see a channel selector. The router I have is an Asus RT-AC66R. I'm digging.

On the Wireless Tab there is a Control Channel option. It is currently set to Auto. The options in the Drop down are many:

36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161, 165.

I'll need to redo the blacklist.conf file so give me a couple of minutes.

no problem :)

[EDIT]

It might also be a good idea to restart the router after changing channels .. normally this isn't necessay but the guy with the "Airplay" router said he needed to .. so can't hurt :)

I get the feeling this is a 5ghx problem, and the firmware getting confused .. possibly that there's a certain component on that particular adapter that just plain doesn't like your router.

Would be interesting to see if you get a proper MAC addreess with your router turned off, then repluging the adapter

OK, probably time to give up then and return it .. sorry I couldn't help, but if it is also broken in Windows it doesn't look good for the hardware itself.
