Yes, the box containing the figure does allow me to delete and reinsert a different number.

Keep looking in the router settings then .. somewhere in there there must be a setting that allows you to change the DHCP pool size/range

So on this screen you cannot change
Size of Client IP Pool: 253
to
Size of Client IP Pool: 200
and click submit ?

Yes, I can do that, sorry, thought that was what I had said originally, it was certainly what I meant.

Degsy

Should I go ahead and change to 200 and submit?

OK, tbe static IP you wsant to assign to you pinter is:-

192.168.1.210

there are usually 2 methods to do this

1) navigate the printers control panel .. dunno how much I can help with this as I can't see the options
or
2) set it through the printers built in websever .. see the video on this page:

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the info, just one question, did you really mean 192.168.1,210 or should that have been 192.168.1.201 as we changed the pool to 200, doesn't that mean a max of 192.168.1,201?

192.168.1.210

the pool currently runs for 200 addreesses starting at 192.168.1.2 .. so it will be 192.168.1.2  -->  192.168.1.202 (inclusive)

So you can used any IP's from 192.168.1.203  --> 192.168.1.254 (inclusive) for static IP's ;)

I just chose 210 arbitrarily.

Hi Mark,
Just for the sake of completeness, have manually assigned the suggested IP address to the HP printer and set up the desktop and laptop to recognise the new set up. Delighted to say it is all systems go now.
Once again many thanks for your time and helpful advice, much appreciated.
