Yeah, Peppermint 5 is in beta testing right now so shouldn't be long now .. sorry, can't be more precise than that .. but if you can, I'd wait for Peppermint 5

Did we try Peppermint 4 on that PC .. and did it run ?

Yes it's Peppermint 4 and it runs very well.  The laptop has only 512mb memory so it is a good choice and it runs quite quickly too.

Only problem was the sound issue which you have now resolved and for which we are very grateful.

Might as well wait for Peppermint 5 now.

Just to let you know I did the update to my friend's Toshiba laptop this afternoon and it works just fine!!  She's really pleased and so am I,  and very grateful
to you for all your help.

I'm going to install Peppermint 5 for her when it is available and remove XP at the same time.
