I'm not even sure you *could* upgrade to Peppermint 6 .. if we put you on Peppermint 3 it was for one of two reasons

a) system specs were too low for Peppermint 6
or
b) your CPU doesn't support PAE, which is required for Peppermint 4 onwards.

Easy way to find out if it was (b), what's the output from:
Code: [Select]
cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep flags

logging in as 'insane' is the only safe option.

Peppermint 6 wasn't out when we put it on this old xp laptop Mark- that was about 2 years ago. ;)
My computers: Asus notebook x102B, running on Peppermint 9. Asus c300 Chromebook and an old Dell inspiron mini netbook running on Mint.

OK, it'll support Peppermint 6 .. maybe we decided not to because of RAM limitations (?), what's the output from:
Code: [Select]
free -m
?

It wasn't due to RAM Mark- only Peppermint 3 was out when we installed it onto this laptop. ;)

I still wouldn't move to Peppermint 6 until you get some more RAM

Yeah I am happy with P3 - I don't see any reason to change unless it becomes "outdated."
