package failed to install (SOLVED)
« on: January 12, 2016, 11:20:36 am »
Hi Mark,
I updated the computer from the update icon on the toolbar this morning and it came up with a message :-

(synaptic:2510): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_child_watch_add_full: assertion 'pid > 0' failed
dpkg: error: dpkg status database is locked by another process
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
A package failed to install.  Trying to recover:
dpkg: error: dpkg status database is locked by another process

Can you help ?
EDIT I have just tried again as the icon was showing in the toolbar and it has updated successfully  ;)
