Try that on the installed version of Peppermint 6 .. as it may require a reboot before the changes are picked up (you can't do this on a Live session)

OR

Try the working boot parameters on the Ubuntu 16.10 live session

Hmm .. it's showing the Elan touchpad .. are you sure you haven't simply disabled it with a key combo or something ?

Of Peppermint 7 ?

Boot using those parameter

Install Peppermint 7 (from the icon on the live desktop)

Once installed, and you need to reboot .. use those parameters again on the first boot from the hard drive.

When the system is booted, open a terminal and run:
Code: [Select]
sudo pluma /etc/default/grub
find the line that reads
Code: [Select]
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
and change it to
Code: [Select]
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash nouveau.modeset=0 tpm_tis.interrupts=0 acpi_osi=! acpi_backlight=native i915.preliminary_hw_support=1 idle=nomwait"
SAVE the file and exit pluma

back in the terminal run:
Code: [Select]
sudo update-grub
it should now boot without user intervention.

Then come back here and tell me you've got it booting and we'll install the nvidia drivers and remove part of those parameters.
