File sharing mint 18 mate (resolved)
« on: August 30, 2016, 11:53:41 am »
Dear All,

I am trying out a clean install of mint 18 mate version and want to share files over the LAN.

Installed SAMBA and switched on shared folders.

However, I can not list the folers and when right clicking a folder the share option is not shown.

Any help apreceated.

Try:
Code: [Select]
sudo apt-get install caja-share
now see if right-clicking a folder gives you a "Share" option

Thanks chaps, have decided to revert to mint 17.3 mint 18 is unstable on this 5 year old laptop.  Freezes and restarts on its own and very slow to boot.. I really wish that they included LAN set-up as standard.

Thanks again.
