INSTALLATION errors..WHO to fix them, advice for an idiot!

WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT? I love my linux, so cool to use,  8) but what is this? currently cannot install any software with this coming up in my screen? LOST with out a hope here, as am NOT that into python to solve this one on my own? CAN anyone help? email me or advise I take this machine to a linux specialist or what? Regards Timthy Beighton  :'(

What were you installing when you first saw that message ?

And is that error message 100% accurate (eg. copy/pasted) .. I ask because "SystemError("ibstallArchives() Failed")" .. I'd have expected an "n" not a "b" ???


And also "cache.commit(acquire_progreee_monitor," ???

I'm trying to find out if this is corruption, or simply typos ?

Can you also post the output from:

And mention which Linux distribution/version/architecture you're using ?
