Libre Calc.
« on: September 10, 2018, 03:15:50 pm »
Lbre Calc has been modified beyond description. I can no longer change font, number style, position in cell to name but a few. I can save which is rather academic since
I cannot make any changes to my spreadsheet. Calc used to  be easy to use with options offering all the commonly used operations. What is going on?

Which version of Calc are you talking about ?

And in which distro/version ?

[EDIT]

I can still do all the things you mentioned in Version: 6.0.3.2

Are you saying the option for changing font, etc. are missing .. or just not working ?

Don't know the version but I have recently downloaded a full set of updates including from Libre Office so should be up to date.
I cannot find the options mentioned.

Where/how did you "download" the updates ?

And you can get the version by opening Calc, and going to Help > About LibreOffice

This is Peppermint7. Recommended updates -small icon bottom right on screen. Generally update about once a month.

Version number 6.1 so far as I can see.
The option for changing "default font" is present but does not work. Have tried it many times. I cannot find the option for changing font on an open spreadsheet.

Hang on! Have just discovered "side bar" under "View" at the top of the spreadsheet window. This provides the operations I was missing. Libre Office is a very difficult system for the uninitiated to manage. Its "help" pages are not much help and it seems impossible to address a direct question.

Sorry to have troubled you. Thanks anyway.

Hmm, you seem to have a more recent version than the default version in the Peppermint repos (more recent even than the version in Peppermint 9) .. maybe they've changed some stuff I'm not aware of yet.

Anyway, glad you figured it out :)

Unfortunately not to my satisfaction. Is it possible to get back to the earlier and much more usable version? I am spending a great deal of time grappling with cmplexities of this version and not getting any real work done. Grateful for any advice.

and
Code: [Select]
dpkg -l | grep libre
