Have installed Peppermint9, Shut down and re-started and have:-"Starting up" witha picture of a padlock and space for what? Password?  Have entered the password previously entered during the installation procedure but the answer comes back:-   "cryptsetup failed , bad password or option". Several attempts entering the password and the "Starting up..." bar seems to creep along a little further each time.

Have just repeated password, enter, and now have a large amount of script starting "WARNING: Failed to connect to lumetad. Falling back to device scanning.

I told you not to install yet, and just to tell me if you had a desktop icon.

Reinstall, but this time don't select disk encryption.

When setting up Peppermint9 I was asked to create the following:  Security key
                                                                                                 Computer Name
                                                                                                 User Name
                                                                                                 Password

All of which I did. Which of these do I have to enter on start-up?
Sorry-started again. In answer to "cat /etc/lsb-release I have:      DISTRIB_ID=Peppermint
                                                                                                DISTRIB_RELEASE=9
                                                                                                DISTRIB_CODENAME=bionic
                                                                                                DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Peppermint 9 NINE"
There is an "Install Peppermin 9" icon plus "Menu" with the usual options. Do I install now?

Yes, click the "Install Peppermint" icon on the desktop.

Walk through the installation steps....

When asked, select "Replace Peppermint" (be aware this will wipe the drive, so I hope you've saved any documents you need to an external source FIRST)

If asked, DO NOT select disk encryption.
