Help with Opendocman Installation on Ubuntu
« on: March 01, 2019, 10:04:37 am »
Hi Guys,

I am new to linux and need your kind help.

I am trying to install opendocman document management system on Ubuntu 18.0.4

I get to the page where I am supposed to be able to install and setup the database.

DB Name: opedocmandb
DB Username: opendocmanuser
DB Host: localhost

When I browse to http://localhost/opendocman, I get the error below:

"The file 'config.php' already exists. If you need to reset any of the configuration items in this file, please delete it first. You may try installing now.

"); exit; } if (isset($_GET['step'])) { $step = $_GET['step']; } else { $step = 0; } /** * Display setup config.php file header. * */ function display_header() { header('Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8'); ?>"

I can seem to be able to delete the default configphp file as advised in the error message.

Please help me.

Regards,

This seems like a similar issue some people suffer with wordpress installations
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/32686663/error-the-file-wp-config-php-already-exists
try clearing your browser cache to clear the first access redirect.

Load the OpenDocMan page in your web browser, for example http://your-domain.com/opendocman/ and follow the prompts: Click on the ‘Create a Configuration File’ button to create a config.php file. On the next page, click the ‘Let’s go!’ button, enter your MySQL database name, username and password, administrator password, data directory (/home/odm-datadir/), base URL where OpenDocMan will be running from and finally click ‘Submit’. On the next page click on the ‘Run the install’ button, then click the ‘New installation of the v1.2.6.2a release of OpenDocMan (Will wipe any current data!)’ hyperlink and write down your admin password.
