where files save when running off of USB
« on: May 06, 2019, 10:53:54 pm »
I'm thinking of trying to run off a USB (having only used Linux off a laptop) and was wondering where all the docs etc you create are stored and accessed, or how you decide...what's the default, or is there one?

If it's a LiveUSB with persistence, your user files will be stored in the persistence file (on the USB stick, but inside a special file)

if it's a 'proper' installation (just to a USB stick rather than a hard drive), then your user files will be stored on the USB in the normal way.

Either way, they're saved on the USB stick unless you choose to save them somewhere else.
