Hi, Unfortunately these forums don't moderate themselves, so I'm in search of one or more individuals who can take-over some of the work that Mark has been doing these past years. It's not something I have time for at the moment so unless someone out there has time on their hands the forums will probably go Read-Only shortly, at least for a little while. Hi MP - It would appear that Mods are a bit thin on the ground........! 

I have no experience of forum moderation so don't know if I would be a suitable candidate or not so can you give me a bit of a 'heads-up', please? 

What exactly is involved?  How much time is needed to devote to it?  Would a high-ish level of Linux knowledge be required? Etc, etc.

I'm just a general, fairly moderate level user of Linux, (getting on for 8yrs or so now), and while I'm ok in following methodology (inputting quoted code into terminals, posting results etc) I have no experience of writing that code in the first instance.  Hence my ability to provide solutions would be VERY limited.  I may be able to help with issues from my personal experience and point others to it but that would be about it.  Would that be enough, in the meantime?

As I said in my PM, it would be a great shame if the collective knowledge on here was to be lost through lack of interest, so trying to keep things alive until another 'guru' comes forward would be a good thing, I think.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I do hope this forum continues! Rich thanks for offering to be a mod. I have no programming experience and so couldn't be a mod unless you guys would need one to just keep the forum running.

Hello can you tell me please what is involved.  Do you need programming experience??  Don't want to see this forum going down I would like to see it become more active.
