Can't you use the data stick and chromebook to burn CDs?
I'm not familiar with the chromebook so I may be completely wrong...
No because it has no CD drive, nor can you use external CD/DVD drives on it. I forgot to look again at the netbook. My friend Dave was doing some CDs for me on his Windows computer and using media player but last time I saw him he was having trouble with it ( probably needed an update ).
I've since bought a GPO Chesterton record player that looks a bit like an old radio and the usb stick works on that so I've been using it to play the mp3s on.
You can record off devices on it but I don't think it does mp3s to CDS- not figured that out yet. It can play vinyl records, CDs, cassettes and mp3s off a data stick.
