I had the impression when I joined that there was a Minecraft forum for Linux (Ubuntu)

I cannot find it, so, is there one?

Hi - and welcome to the Forum.

I'm not aware of a Forum dedicated to Minecraft on Linux, but I suggest that you join the Minecraft Forum and ask there.
This link (https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-java-edition/discussion/181459-how-to-install-minecraft-basic-modding-on-linux) shows that their forum is Linux aware so it's your best bet, I think.

We've had only eight posts since 2012 relating to Minecraft, so not much interest here it seems.
