Your welcome, I'm glad you got it all working .. even after the small flashplayer hiccup :)

I'll add annotation to the flash 11 instructions in a bit .. I'm about to rewrite the Firefox instructions for version 7.01, I'll point the flash link directly at the flash 11 posting rather than the flash 10 posting :)

Watch out for more AA1 software installation tutorials in  the near future, now that Kath C has kindly donated an AA1 :)

[EDIT]

Annotation added to the flashplayer 11 posting here:
http://linuxforums.org.uk/netbooks/acer-aspire-one-linpus-lite-flash-player/msg68331/#msg68331

and new instructions for Firefox 7 (for an AA1) here:

Hi,

I've only just discovered this site.

I updated Firefox on my Acer Aspire One (Limpus Lite) using http://macles.blogspot.com/2008/07/installing-firefox-3-on-acer-aspire-one.html (perfect!), and am now running FF 3.6.23

It seems OK but there are a few sites which aren't supported, so I'm thinking of updating (good idea?)

If so,, the instructions here are for FF2 to FF6, or FF4 or FF5 to FF6. But I suppose what I want to do now is go from FF3 to FF7. Which route should I take?

Cheers

The instructions at the macles link should have installed Firefox 3 to /opt so the instructions for Firefox 6 or Firefox 7 should be OK for you too

If you follow the instructions for Firefox 6 here:
http://linuxforums.org.uk/index.php?topic=9481.0

when Firefox 6 is installed, start Firefox then go to Help > About Firefox (in the Firefox menu's) it will automagically offer to update to Firefox 7.0.1

[EDIT]

or even better, see here:

No problem :) .. I hope you're sorted now.

Have you considered moving from Linpus Lite (which is based on Fedora core 8 which reached "end of life" some time ago, so no longer receives any security or software updates) to something more up-to-date like PeppermintOS which will run all the latest software ?

Full tutorial here:
http://linuxforums.org.uk/index.php?topic=9782.0
if you're interested.

Bear in mind, PeppermintOS Three will be released in the next few weeks so if you are considering a change, it may be worth waiting till then.
