New life to old PDA
« on: November 19, 2011, 07:39:07 am »
Wonder if anyone can help please.

I have an old Vodafone V1520 PDA and would like to install Linux on the machine - can I? if so how and what distro should I use.  Have hunted the net and am unable to locate any information on how to crash and re-write the rom.

This is just a project for a bit of fun, but would use the PDA if this could be done.

Many thanks for any help.

Well this page suggests not:
http://www.anytux.org/hardware.php?system_id=2027

But I'm pretty sure Angstrom:
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/
used to have an image for the XScale PXA270 processor .. don't if they do, don't expect an easy install routine.

But that may be a good place to start your search.
