Acer 5100 - Display corruption on wake-up
« on: January 08, 2012, 09:46:46 am »
Hi All.

I have recently installed Linux on my Acer 5100 because Windows was really slow... 1st impressions is its great and alot quicker but when i close the laptop lid (the laptop display sleeps) and then open it and wake it up again, the display is corrupt and jumping all over the place. Have tried 2 differnt Linux versions and both do the same but with Windows installed the display is fine. Is there a work-around for this..

Any advice welcome

Thanks

Hi, would you like to disclose which versions of Linux you've tried?
- when the screen is screwed, if you do "CTRL+ALT+F1" (to get a text console) then "ALT+F7" to go back, does it still look corrupt?
