Backlight on Acer aspire One d250

Hi, I have installed Lubuntu 17.04 on my Acer Aspire One D250 (KAV60).
I have also installed a QI Pixel screen on the netbook which makes the screen viewable out in the sun.

I have one problem, though.

When I press fn + f6, the LCD backlight turns off, but whenever I press another key on the keyboard, the backlight turns on again.
This is quite annoying since the QI Pixel screen functions best outdoors when there are no backlight at all.

Is there any way to fix this?

Hi- did you find a solution to this problem?
I am tryign to turn off the backlight for pixel QI as well- mine is fitted to a samsung n220. currently using XP but would switch to linux if this could be solved.

Have you tried the things here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/938775/i-cant-turn-off-backlight-after-trying-many-solutions/996757#996757

Maybe they would work on Lubuntu for some reason…?

I know little or nothing about this and I’m not on a laptop to test it but it may be possible to use xbacklight

something like xbacklight -set 10 which will drop the backlight level to 10% and if it works you can write a simple script with a a key combo to make the switch

if you want to try it ensure you have xbacklight installed by opening a terminal

sudo apt-get install xbacklight

then to check the current brightness level

xbacklight -get

Then post back the output (if any)

Good luck
