computer log out

when computer is left it goes to sleep but does not respond to movement of mouse this has just happend after desktop was upgraded from peppermint 4 to 5 anyone have any clues to problem many thanks

Sleep or hibernate require you to press the power button to awaken (same as Windows) but should resume open apps … screen blanking does not.
(if it’s just screen blanking … try hitting the Esc key)

What do you WANT to happen … and when ?

When my PC goes blank after inactivity it goes back to the login screen by moving the mouse or a mouse click, I think that’s what Gordon wants in fact I know it is

Is the power manager set to put the PC to sleep/hibernate ?

Go to
manu> Preferences > Power Manager
when it starts, select “On AC” > Actions (tab)
and make sure the slider “Put the computer to sleep when inactive for:” is all the way to the left (Never)

select “On Battery” > Actions (tab)
and make sure the slider “Put the computer to sleep when inactive for:” is all the way to the left (Never)

Close the Power Manager window.

Now you may need to adjust the Light Locker settings, to lock the screen after the desired period.
in
Menu > Preferences > Light Locker Settings

thanks that has solved problem
