Copying from NTFS to ext4 - getting Error splicing file: Value too large for def

I am trying to copy files from a ntfs formatted partition to a ext4 formatted partition. It is on a USB drive. Both partitions are on the same drive.
I tried using this command:
mount -t cifs -o user=me,pass=secret,nounix,noserverino //server/share /mount
I changed /mount to /media/superuser/Data which is what my ntfs partition is mounted as.
I got this error:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on //server/Data,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
(for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might
need a /sbin/mount. helper program)

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
   dmesg | tail or so.

I tried copying the files using gnome-commander and I got the error:
Error splicing file: Value too large for defined value

The two partitions are sda1 and sda2.
I want to copy my files from sda1 which is Data ntfs to sda2 which is Data2 ext4.
Some files are very small and some are large. I am getting this error with small and large. Please help.

if you’re sure the NTFS partition is /dev/sda1 … try using these 2 commands to mount the partition

sudo mkdir /media/ntfs-partition

then

sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /media/ntfs-partition

Now see if your files are at /media/ntfs-partition
