Flash updating (SOLVED)

I use Chrome (mostly) and I am meeting some problems when trying to use some websites.
I try to log on but the site says I need the latest Flash Player version ??
I update daily using the Update Manager (when there are updates) and I thought Flash Player would be included.
How do I updated Flash Player.
I had a look at the post from Mel and have started with this

ii flashplugin-installer

What do I do next ?

Hi Don, if you use Chrome, the flashplayer should be included … are you sure you’re using Chrome, and not Chromium ?

Can we have the FULL output from:

Okay let’s try forcing Chrome to re-download it’s pepperflash player…


Open a terminal and run:

sudo rm -rv ~/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash

Now open Chrome and go to:-

you should see a jigsaw piece at the top saying “Downloading”, followed by “Restart Chrome to enable Abobe Flash Player

Close Chrome, reopen Chrome, and test again here:

That has cured the problem with the Broxburn site.
I still have an issue with

Does pressing F5 whilst on the

page make it reload and work ?

Could that be my Ad Blocker causing this ? I useAdblockPlus

I doubt it, I just installed ABP and the site still works for me.

Maybe try clearing the browser cache … then restart Chrome.

It still does not work on that site.
I can forget the site if that is ok. It is an American wood site and useless for me.

Strange because it’s working for me in Chrome (same version as you) … maybe try disabling all plugins (as a test).

Or there’s always Chromium or Firefox :wink:
