installing Flash in Ubuntu 14.04 (Solved)

Just tried to use the BBC website and was prompted to install Flash Player.

I chose APT for Ubuntu 10.04+ but was told ‘This link needs to be opened with an application’.

Problem is I don’t know which application to choose, or where to find it!

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’m now using Ubuntu on a daily basis, so I expect there’ll be a few more before we’re done!

Open a terminal and run:

sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer

then close ALL running web browser instances, and re-open.

test flash.

Thanks Mark.

Solved again!

I like linux more and more, and look forward to getting to grips with the command-line stuff (if I ever get the time)…

(when I think about the hassles I’ve had in Windows with this kind of thing…)

You’re most welcome … Glad to hear you’re enjoying Linux

And thanks for marking the topic solved.

No problem.

Solved is solved!
