ive just started using linux, is it actually possible to download anything at all and get it to work ? ie flash player.im using google chrome for linux wich is supposed to have this built in as a plug in .my grandchildren like cbbeies nothing will work .

Which Linux distribution?

If it is, open a terminal and enter

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras flashplugin-nonfree

hit enter, and enter your password when asked.

Close Chrome, and restart it.

Done

The built-in flash player is only available on the 32-bit version of Chrome (!) but on the assumption that you have a 32-bit machine, you can activate this built-in plugin by starting Chrome with an enable command as documented in this thread; http://linuxforums.org.uk/general-discussion/google-chrome-6-x/msg20862/#msg20862
