Machine Self Restart

Hello Experts,

I have an “Oracle Unbreakable Linux 6.5” on which “Oracle EBS” is running due to some unknown reasons machine self restarted. I see all possible logs (See Attached JPEG File) but unable to sort out the real cause of issue.

Can you please not post images/files as attachments unless specifically asked to do so by forum admin … instead host them elsewhere and post links … thanks in advance.

Apologies from my side.

dmesg is here

any expert / linux guru please help :-[

just one question - why this distribution? why that old release?

Anything in the syslog or kern.log from around the date/time of the reboot ?

unable to find these two files syslog and kern.log on my server.
Its ERP server and we have not update it due to ERP limitations

They may have different names, but you must have a system log and a kernel log (?)

Look in /var/log for something with a similar name.

Machine again gets restarted on SEP 18 16:43 and i am unable to find any clue.
The last messages file was empty after SEP 17 and new messages file created.

messages file

dmesg

messages-20161809

Experts,

Machine rebooted again on yesterday morning at 25/09/2016 , 08:26 AM and again no clue find on messages and dmesg but i can see that according to time stamp before reboot some thing is happens with Xorg.log.1 file.

sorry i cant access pastebin from work. can you post the log in here, but only the recent records with the date when it restarted? also i would check the logs of all these apps cron was running on that day. also check the scheduled apps that are listed in cron and is there anything there that runs once a week, once a month etc rather than daily. i recon it would be one of these apps that doesnt run daily otherwise your machine will crash everyday.
ps. if its not your personal machine - ask your boss to hire some linux admin contractor to sort it out.

Do you need messages file ?

i see all cron activity all looks normal and fair.
