Peppermint 3 fails Resolved

On my IBM Thinkpad T22 I have Win 98 and peppermint . I removed peppermint two and start the peppermint 3 install this dose not finish the little icon that tells when the computer is doing something just keeps spinning for over an hour.

I am thinking of going back to peppermint 2 any options.

How far does it get … does it get to “Copying Files”, then stall at the slideshow ?

Try this … Boot to the LiveCD/LiveUSB, and select “Try peppermint” … when you get to the desktop, open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run:

sudo apt-get remove ubiquity-slideshow-peppermint

Once that’s finished, close the terminal.

Now click the “Install Peppermint” icon on the desktop, and go through the installation.

Obviously you won’t now get the pretty slideshow during installation, but nothing else will be affected.

If that solves the problem, great, it’s not a Peppermint 3 issue as such … more something in Ubuntu 12.04, as it’s happening with some PC’s in Ubuntu/Xubunt/Lubuntu 12.04 too.

Thanks install went like a dream item resolved

You’re welcome … and thanks for marking the topic (solved)
