Peppermint 6 - unable to boot

It is me again seeking help.
I have a 3 Acer Aspire One computers - all with Peppermint 6 - and I am very happy.

Yesterday one was shot-down when we had a power cut.
On trying to bring it up again I encountered problems and now this is what happens when I try :

on switching on i get the screen “Acer empowering people” and it then goes to screen which says

Intel Unid etc and detailas about patents and below is this message:

"Realtec PCI Express Fast Internet Controller series V1.15 (090224)
PXE -E61 : Media test failure, check cable
No bootable device – insert boot disk and press any key.

I have done CTRL ALT DELETE which takes me back to the
“ACER empowering people” screen and pressed F12
which took me to the “Boot Screen” and there is now
only one choice :

  1. NEtwork Boot : Legacy PC1 DEVICE.

I could re-install Peppermint 6 but do not want to loose all my files.

Is there a trick ? Can any of the other of my ACER ASpire One s be of assistance ?

I have a memory stick with

Hi Kevin

Do you have a live USB/CD you can boot up from

If so can you boot up using a live disc open the terminal and post the output of the following command

fdisk -l

I’m not sure but it seems to me that you need to enter the BIOS and check your boot up options, it appears to be trying to boot from a network, and it should be your hard drive, could have been caused by your power cut.
