Hello everyone
At first sorry if there isn’t good place for this topic and sorry for my English .
I have a Dvb-T , to see it
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/pc-peripheral/103939/pinnacle-pctv-hybrid-pro-stick-review/#zzz
as you see pinnacle pctv hybrid pro stick .
i have Ubuntu 12.4.1 64bit and use kernel

3.2.0-30-generic #48-Ubuntu x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

i search in Internet for installation guide unit see this link
http://linuxforums.org.uk/index.php?topic=5682.0
i start according to this guide but when run this command
http://kernellabs.com/hg/~dheitmueller/v4l-dvb-drxd]sudo hg clone http://kernellabs.com/hg/~dheitmueller/v4l-dvb-drxd
after 2 or 3 min see this output

behi@behi-EP41-UD3L:/usr/src$ hg clone http://kernellabs.com/hg/~dheitmueller/v4l-dvb-drxd
abort: error: Connection reset by peer

now my question is where i can download v4l-dvb-drxd ?
before seen this guide i do something for install dvb-t but i can’t do it .
i put output command tail -f /var/log/syslog

behi@behi-EP41-UD3L:~$ <U+202B><U+202A>tail -f /var/log/syslog

Nothing to scan!!

Thank you .

If you’re in Iran, try using the “IR” country code in your scan (I’m assuming Iran uses DVD-t):

w_scan -ft -c IR

w_scan manpage here:
http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages//lucid/man1/w_scan.1.html

and country codes gleaned from this file:
http://read.pudn.com/downloads172/sourcecode/unix_linux/799719/w_scan/countries.c__.htm
or running:

w_scan -c?

should list the 2 letter country codes

Hello
I try your command

w_scan -ft -c IR

you can see it work . now my question is why w-scan can’t find any channel . next question how i can convert channels.conf to use in vlc
w_scan convert direct channels list for vlc but it don’t work for me .
Thnak you

Does it need converting ? … can’t you just run:

vlc channels.conf

?

At last i win ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
i can see channels in vlc . do you know vdr support dvb-t ?
Thanks

I couldn’t say for sure, I’ve never used VDR, but I can’t see why not … their wiki suggests it works with DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) and the “T” in DVB-T just stands for “Terrestrial” (ie. not from a satellite)

http://linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/Main_Page
and
http://linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/DVB_installation

You could also look at this page:
http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/DVB-T
In German I’m afraid … but there’s always Google translate

Hello
Which is better application for dvb-t ?
Thanks

As far as Im aware you can record directly from VLC … but I don’t have a TV card so can’t test it … maybe this will help:
http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=68630

If not, check the VLC forum

Hello i use vlc it is perfect
but i have question . My i use remote control dvb-t ( pinnacle pctv hybrid pro stick ) under linux ? if yes , how ? and it work in vlc .
Thank you

As your card comes with an IR remote … I think you need to be looking at “lirc” … but I couldn’t tell you how to configure it.

Some pages that may help:-

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LIRC
and
http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=How-to:Setup_Lirc
and
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LIRC
and

and
http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/VLC/LIRC
and
http://lircconfig.commandir.com/

Or just google “setting up lirc” or “configuring lirc” etc.

Once you have LIRC installed/configured/working … in VLC -

Go to Tools->Preferences
Show settings->All (bottom left)
Go to Interface>Control Interfaces
Put a tick in Infrared remote control interface
Save, close, restart VLC
