Puppy Printing (SOLVED)

Hi guys

Recently I installed Puppy Linux on a old laptop as an experiment to see if I can make it usable, and so far it’s been a huge success, except i can’t get my printer working, there’s no printer configuration tool, but CUPS is preinstalled, I’ve added the printer using exactly the same settings from my main PC’s but if I try to print anything the printer is listed as unavailable, CUPS has it’s status listed as

Idle - “Filter “/usr/lib/cups/filter/gstopxl” for printer “Samsung” not available: No such file or directory”

Any help would be much appreciated

Graeme

Does the file
/usr/lib/cups/filter/gstopxl
exist on both the puppy PC and the Peppermint/Ubuntu/whatever one ?

It exists in my Peppermint PC but not in the Puppy laptop, I think I know where you were going with this so I copied it into /usr/lib/cups/filter on the laptop and it works

Once again many thanks

Graeme
