Reinventing the Linux filesystem

I was browsing through Distrowatch looking for something different to mess around with when I came across GoboLinux which attempts to restructure the Linux filesystem in a more logical way (at least more logical according to them) it certainly seems more logical to me but then I’m no expert, so i was wondering what anybody thought,

Could this be the future of the Linux filesystem ?
Should this be the future of the Linux filesystem ?

I’m not convinced hiding the real file locations (standard Linux file system tree), and producing thousands of symlinks to make them “appear” to be elsewhere is the way forward.

Surely that would cause MORE confusion.
