Okay have worked out how to do a screen shot…I think!

It might be worth looking in the logs:

gedit /var/log/Xorg.0.log

You should be able to copy text by:
Click (tap) the Touchpad at the end of the text then press and hold Shift key and use the left arrow keys to traverse /highlight (backwards) the desired text.
Next do Ctrl+c to copy and Ctrl+v to paste

I can see nothing wrong in there … it knows there are left and right buttons present.

But if xev iis not giving output I’d say the button is broken.

Test it with a Mint LiveCD … you KNOW it worked originally, so if it doesn’t work with the liveCD, you KNOW it’s broken.

There’s no point in looking for a software fix until you know it’s not a hardware problem :wink:
