Transferring video clips to disc((SOLVED)

Hi Everyone,
I would be interested in suggestions for a SIMPLE programme to transfer and edit holiday clips to DVD/CD, nothing too fancy, just stringing the clips together and maybe adding titles etc.
I want to do this on my desktop running Ubuntu 12.04, your comments and suggestions for this would be appreciated, as I said simplicity is preferred to something “all singing, all dancing”.

Many thanks,
Degsy

Hi Degsy

Openshot

You should find it in synaptic or you could add the PPA to get the latest version and updates

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openshot.developers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install openshot openshot-doc

It’s a great and easy to use program and it’s in active development, I’ve used it to make family video and I can’t recommend it highly enough

Here’s a link to the developer website

Good luck

Graeme

Thanks Graeme, already had that downloaded, so will give it a go, looks to have a clear starting page. As I said I am not looking to do anything fancy or professional, just burn a few home movies to DVD.

Cheers,
Derek

Hi Graeme,
Just thought I would add a quick update, used Openshot for my first short clip of video, very straightforward, looking forward to getting on now with the backlog.
Once again thanks for your helpful suggestion.

Can you please remember to mark this topic (SOLVED) if you consider it so.

TIA

You’re welcome, glad to to be some help,

I think openshot is one of the best open source projects around just now and it’s just gonna get better

Happy New year when it arrives

Graeme
